on September 21st we were very relieved and happy to post the following statement on our Facebook Page.
At yesterday’s meeting, TIR agreed to move the road slightly to the back bay side where possible to avoid disturbance to the dunes. Where the road cannot be shifted they will attempt to only work on the existing road surface. A follow up meeting is to be held soon.
Many thanks to the TIR team who took the time to hear our concerns. And a very special thanks to Peter Romkey and Kirsten Ellis who represented us so well.
We also really want to thank everyone who made a stand and supported the effort to keep the dunes intact. Your persistence, sharing, speaking out, letter writing and standing up for protecting the fragile beach ecosystems helped to save the day!
